reading to do

Came across and article promoting EBP [evidence based practice].

This is a very challenging article.  Encouraging practitioners to be current on research and skills, to apply them in sessions and to follow up on the impact on clients' functioning.

I strive to have an Outcome Based Practice, where clients can leave each session able to indicate how the massage has impacted their 'condition'.

I will be hitting my library to read more from K Janda and his research on Upper Crossed  and Lower Crossed syndromes.  A brief summary of these works is that many of the aches and pains we experience are the result of certain muscles being stretched and others being too tight.  Basically knowing how these syndromes behave gives me the immediate knowledge to apply my skills to immediately reduce your experience of pain.

How does this benefit my clients?  A 15-minute chair massage can have an immediate change on your neck pain.  A 15-minute massage is only $15.00 and every 4th one is FREE.
